Captain Dave and this Canal Cruise was a highlight of our time in Amsterdam. Our cruise had a few other couples and the boat had plenty of space and was very comfortable. It was cold the evening of our cruise so he put the windows up and the heat on as well. Even through the glass windows, we had no issue seeing landmarks throughout the tour.He was very knowledgeable of the area so we learned lots from the excursion. So fun how the boat itself has so much history as well! We would highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Highlight of a whole week in Amsterdam! Never a dull moment with Captain Dave!

Best boat cruise ever! Dave is super entertaining, hilarious and informative. The boat itself is very cosy, comfortable and has an amazing history. Snacks and drinks are included. The small boat size makes it feel more like a private tour than your typical tourist boats. We went on the sunset cruise which was great to see all the night lights. 10/10 highly recommend. My daughter and I had a spontaneous trip to Amsterdam of only 2 days and Dave's boat tour was the best part! It's a great way to see Amsterdam! His boat is beautiful, he has a great personable personality, he serves pastries and drinks of all kinds and he knows so much about Amsterdam! Dave's boat tour is an absolute MUST when you visit Amsterdam. It's very intimate and fun!!

Both the boat and the captain are phenomenal. We had a private tour through the canals that was arranged very last minute. Dave was very flexible with our tour arrangements and also very friendly with us. He respected privacy when we wanted privacy and was a great guide when we had questions. He was also super nice to the kids. we were sad to leave! Thanks Captain Dave 🙂

Great cruise with Captain Dave. Dave was a very personable guy and the tour was excellent. On top of the great views and history lessons, we also saw giraffes and elephants as we passed the zoo. To top it all off, the boat has a great history and the food/drinks were good too! Would it again if im ever back in town. THANKS DAVE!

We made a canal cruise with Captain Dave at 2 pm. The experience was excellent. Captain Dave was friendly, fun and welcoming. We share the cruise with other people with who we spend very joyful and funny time. Captain Dave's explanations were very interesting and quirkly. He was available at any moment. His boat is beautiful and cosy. It's obvious that Captain Dave is passionnate about his boat and sharing informations about Amsterdam. In addition, Captain Dave was very kind as he accepted to postpone our booking. I highly recommand Captain Dave's canal cruise.

Captain Dave is the BEST! My family (4 of us) booked a private canal cruise. The boat was well equipped (beer, wine, snacks), had a restroom onboard, had lots of seating space both in/out of the sun, and had a knowledgeable guide in Captain Dave. We saw Amsterdam from its inner canals view point. Captain Dave even let us "rock out" to our favorite tunes. As we cruised around, it was quite obvious that our boat was having the most fun of all. Thank you very much Captain Dave! Your journey was a highlight of our vacation.

We had a blast on Captain Dave's boat! Dave was very knowledgeable, took our group through the less-traveled parts of the canals, and was hilarious. He had unlimited beer, wine, and snacks and hung out with our group for a while after the tour ended. It was so relaxing and would recommend this over any other canal tour in Amsterdam. Great Cruise through the canals! Beautiful boat with a royal history. Captain Dave is a wonderful tour guide with a wealth of information to share. He tailored the trip to our group and made the day very memorable. We were referred to him and can certianly do the same!

This was fabulous. The canal was super quiet and so we didn’t have the usual traffic jams to deal with, loud music or crowds. Our boat owner was friendly, made every effort to get to know everyone, regaled us with personal and entertaining stories, and gave great info about the houses and history as we cruised along. Delicious snacks too. Totally worth getting up for an 8am start.

I had one day in Amsterdam and wanted to do a canal cruise before flying home. I picked the best cruise!I had an incredible time aboard Captain Dave’s boat, the Jonckvrouw. He started off telling us about the history of the boat that includes Dutch Royal ties. He provided a wide array of drinks and snacks. Captain Dave is a great raconteur! We were all joking and laughing the entire trip that he forgot to play music! We sailed all around the various canals and saw so much more than a regular canal cruise.I’ll be back in Amsterdam in 2023 and have told Dave that we will be doing his canal cruise again!

I cannot thank Captain Dave enough for making our Bachelorette Party Experience nothing but exceptional and memorable. Dave went above and beyond to fulfill all our requests. The setup up is very nice, there are 2 refrigerators filled with a variety of drinks. The snacks were tasty and adequate for the time we toured around. The boat can hold up to 12 guests which is perfect for the size of the boat.There were plenty of opportunities to take incredible pictures. I would totally recommend this tour and look forward to do it again on my next visit to Amsterdam!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Captain Dave is a hoot! He tells wonderful stories while still providing history and information about the area. We even got a mini walking tour and extra canal time! Highly recommended.

Dave was a great captain and entertainer! We loved our tour and would definitely do it again.

Captain Dave is SO sweet, so accommodating, and we felt right at home on his boat. He takes time to get to know each and every guest before the ride begins, and offered a fully stocked mini-fridge of different wines and beers, as well as plenty of things to snack on -- including locally made bitterballen, which were delicious! He took his time taking us around the canals and didn't stress about sticking to his schedule... we were on the boat closer to 2 hours, which we loved! The boat was incredibly clean and has a bathroom on board. All of the people that we met during our trip were friendly. We would 100% recommend Captain Dave's experience to any of our friends visiting Amsterdam in the future!

A must-do experience for your stay in Amsterdam! Captain Dave is so friendly and welcoming, he’ll make you feel right at home on his beautiful boat. Really enjoyed this boat ride with Captain Dave! Very clean and cool boat. It is his only boat. He runs the show with pride for this gorgeous boat and making you feel so welcome. Drinks and snacks provided! He is very informative but with a twist of humor. He is a natural, enjoys his job. Captain Dave was so very charming. We were greeted with big smile and yummy bread. The boat is a beautiful antique boat with lovely teak. It has a very interesting history that Dave shared with us.This tour is small and intimate, there were nine of us aboard. Because of small number we could travel down some of the smaller canals. It was the perfect way to to get introduced to Amsterdam.

Captain Dave has a lot of energy and love for the city. He had amazing stories. I would have loved to hear more of them. The boat was cozy and beautiful. He had pillows and blankets to help us relax. The snacks and drinks were a tasty addition. The best part of the trip for my kids is that he allowed them to steer the boat. He was amazingly patient and kind with them.

Captain Dave came highly recommended by a friend and it was a trip highlight. The boat is beautiful and has a great history. It's a perfect size as we were in a group of 12 and got to meet some really fun people from other places. Captain Dave is like having a friend invite you over. Absolute MUST do! We moved to Amsterdam a year ago so have done quite a few different canal tours as we’ve had family and friends come to visit and this was the best one by far! Captain Dave was friendly, knowledgeable, and born and raised in Amsterdam so was able to point out several different things that we had not heard about on any of the other tours. It was cold and rainy when we met so the boy was enclosed and heated and absolutely perfect! We chose to bring own food and drinks, but Captain Dave offered to provide them as well. The boat has a very cool history and has been restored beautifully. Even if you don’t have enough people to fill the boat, I HIGHLY recommend doing the tour anyway. It was so worth it and we will definitely be bringing all of our visitors here from now on.Thank you, Captain Dave!!

We went on a boat trip with Captain Dave for a family birthday and had a fantastic time! The boat is beautiful and comfortable and Dave is a wonderful host/guide. We really enjoyed his descriptions of Amsterdam history, which he obviously cares a lot about. Dave was happy for us to bring our own bubbly and cake and kindly provided plates and glasses. Would recommend!

Fantastic experience! My husband and I enjoyed it very much. Captain Dave's boat was cozy, classic and charming! We loved to see the city's canals in an intimate setting and especially with such a humorous host who knows the city like the back of his hand:) Definitely a treat to fit into your schedule if you've never 'canaled' before!

Captain Dan's experience was incredibly unique and super fun! His boat was easy to find and upon arrival, he immediately launches into host mode. There was never a dull moment! Between his stories, answering our questions, and the drinks/snacks, this tour was definitely one that's different than you typical canal tour in the best way possible. We were very comfortable the whole time with both options of sitting indoors and outdoors. If you're looking for a boat tour that's out of the norm, family friendly, and full of stories this one is for you!

We had the best time on the boat trip. The boat is absolutely beautiful, and Captain Dave made the trip so enjoyable. I organised the trip for my boyfriend's birthday, and Captain Dave made us laugh and feel right at home. The only bad part of the trip was the fact it had to end, we could have stayed there all day! Would highly recommend, we will definitely be back again.

Our go-to boat tour in Amsterdam! We have cruised with Captain Dave twice so far - once as a private cruise and once as a public cruise. Both were amazing experiences! We will return with more out of town guests.

Amazing tour!

We just stepped off Captain Dave’s boat. It’s literally the ONLY boat tour you want to consider. We come to Amsterdam 3-4 x a year, we’ve taken many boat tours. None as good as Dave’s. Beautiful boat with a super interesting history, lovely snacks and drinks but nothing beats Dave’s personality and knowledge. Trust me. C

Captain Dave's cruise was exactly what we were looking for - a personal tour with a small group on a beautiful historic boat. He told us lots of stories about the places we sailed past and also treated us to delicious tasty Dutch tapas and drinks throughout the cruise. We loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to find an alternative to the crowded impersonal tour boats!

Absolutely phenomenal host who does everything reasonable to cater to his guests and their needs. Results speak for themselves. Look at anyone else on one of the larger boats and look at their faces. Most seemed to be bored or just looking at their phones despite being in such a beautiful and amazing city. The difference is Capt Dave. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a more personal and welcoming tour. Kids loved it too!

It was better than we expected, though we needed to wake up earlier than we ever did in Amsterdam haha. It was worth it. Captain Dave is the best story teller. The canals are all yours (there was only 1 canoe and 1 police boat passed by us at the end of the trip). The Royal Lady (the name of the boat) was so comfortable. It feels brand new boat with some history on it. Would really recommend to anyone that come to Amsterdam

Dave is een ras-Amsterdammer met mooie verhalen! Ondanks het slechte weer was het een onvergetelijke tour. We hadden de boot voor ons zelf, koffie, thee en jus d'orange voorradig en varen over de prachtige grachten van Amsterdam. Dave vertelt met enthousiasme over 'zijn' stad, route kan naar wens ingevuld worden. Bedankt Dave voor een gezellige ochtend!
